The reaction to fire of Kerrock material for the construction sector has been demonstrated through analysis covering its behavior in the initial phase of a fire. Tests were carried out in accordance with the requirements of the European standard EN 13501-1 (Euroclass System). Kerrock panels were classified with a reaction to fire class of B-s1,d0. The tests were performed:
Fire reaction tests of Kerrock were also carried out in accordance with DIN 4102-1 at HFM TUM (Technische Universität München). Kerrock received a B1 classification for building materials – Test Report B20252.
Kerrock material was also tested for smoke development and toxicity in accordance with Resolution MSC: 61 (67), FTP Code, Annex 1, Part 2. Exova Warringtonfire conducted the testing, and Kerrock meets the requirements of IMO FTPC, Part 2, Section 2.6.1.1 (Smoke) and Section 2.6.2 (Toxicity of smoke) – Report No. 2011-1241-1.
This confirms the suitability of Kerrock material for use in partitions, cladding, or ceilings.
Kerrock MF material is suitable for use in ship equipment, as it complies with the requirements of the MED (Marine Equipment Directive).
For the MED directive, performance standards and testing have been established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and European standardization bodies.
LAPI, a certification body from Italy, carried out material testing for Kerrock MF under Module B (Certificate No. 0987/MED-B/1150) and conducted an audit of the production quality control system under Module D (Certificate No. 0987/MED-D/1164).
